Toyota have partnered up with the IOC for next year’s Olympics and will provide transport through a range of different vehicles, scooters and wheelchairs.
Toyota are planning on 90% of those being electric.
A fleet of more than 3000 vehicles will be deployed to move athletes, spectators and officials around during both the Olympics and Paralympics.
The planned fleet aim to reduce vehicle emissions over the course of the games by half.
Part of the fleet will be a specially-designed “APM” (Accessible People Mover), a batter-electric vehicle, able to carry up to 6 people, and with easy access for wheelchairs.
These APMs can travel up to 100km on a single charge.
